Connect

Most of us spend too much of our lives just living on the surface. But we believe that God calls us to something more, something deeper. There are all kinds of opportunities to connect with God and others in meaningful ways here at SPUMC. Studying the Bible together, talking about real issues of faith and life in relaxed settings, and building relationships for support and encouragement all combine to help you Follow in the Way of Jesus more faithfully.

Ways to Connect

Our church is alive, open, and active! Check out the Events page for the ways we are currently connecting with one another, even while the building remains mostly closed. We have opportunities for children, youth, and adults to connect in person and online. We hope to see you soon!

Just SOME of Our Ministries!

Children’s Ministry at Severna Park United Methodist Church we provide a wide variety of dynamic programs for children to learn about Jesus and to put what they have learned into action. We are committed to partnering with families to continue faith development at home. Children are welcomed into all aspects of church life, including worship! Find out more about Sunday School, VBS, and lots more.

Youth Ministry is one of the signature programs at SPUMC and we are blessed with a large group of committed and involved youth here. We offer teens a chance to explore and claim faith for themselves through our Sunday night United Methodist Youth Fellowship meetings, retreats, Confirmation and service projects. For the last 38 years, our youth have served families living in poverty as part of the Appalachia Service Project and the blessings flow both ways.

Young Adult Ministry is led by and for people in their 20s and 30s who want meaningful discussion, service opportunities, and deep friendships in a community of faith. Young adults at SPUMC are in many seasons of their lives, and are single, dating or married, with and without children, recent graduates and folks starting careers. Learn more about how to get involved in a small group with other young adults.

Adult Ministry takes on many forms at SPUMC. We have Sunday morning, weekday and evening  classes, bible studies, along with ongoing fellowship and missional groups for men, women, young adults, seniors and moms.  In the past, short-term offerings included Rev. Ron’s “God at the Movies,” Rev. Byron’s “A Year-long Intro to the Bible,”and Broadway Journey Through Lent small groups. Check out the Christian Education page for more information about current groups and studies.

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, there is a place for you to connect and grow. Find out where you fit in here.

Connections Gatherings are held every couple of months on Sundays as an introduction to the mission and ministries of SPUMC. Whether you are new and just want to know more or you think you might want to join our congregation, you are welcome to come meet with our pastors, ask questions, and explore at your own pace. Check the events calendar for the next class date.
