Not Alone

Tracy Emmersen (also known as Justin’s mom) has been trying to balance work and parenting amidst the fear and boredom of sheltering in place. She wrote a song that put into words some of her mixed emotions and her deep reservoir of faith. We were blessed to have her share it with us in worship this past Sunday and happy to offer the lyrics and a link to her live performance for you to enjoy it again or for the first time!

Not Alone

I’m not alone
I feel trapped
But I’m not alone
Turn to God in my hours of need
Pray for others and I pray for me

I’m so bored
And I’m so scared
I want to go out
But the risk is there
So I stay home
Just my boy and me
Trying to survive
Stay healthy and free

Oh, I’m not alone
I’m not alone
I feel trapped
But I’m not alone
Turn to God in my hours of need
Pray for others and I pray for me

I can’t stop watching
The rising death toll
Endless worry
Is crushing my soul
Second round of quarantine
It’s so hard to breath
I should  be more thankful
We’re  both still healthy

Oh, I’m not alone
I’m not alone
I feel trapped
But I’m not alone
Turn to God in my hours of need
Pray for others and I pray for me

Schools are closed
And work just called
How am I supposed to juggle
All these balls
I miss my friends
I miss good food
I really miss having lots of things to do

Oh, I’m  not  alone
I’m not alone
I feel trapped in this house
But I’m not alone
Turn to God in my hours of need
Pray for others and I pray for me

I say, I’m not alone
I’m not alone
I feel trapped in this house
But I’m not alone
Turn to God in my hours of need
Pray for others and I pray for me

Pray for others and I pray for me
