Meet Our Aides
Joanne has been an Aide at SPUMCNS for 16 years and has worked in the field of early childhood education for 27 years. Married with two grown daughters, she spends her free time with her four grandchildren.
Vicky has been an Aide at SPUMCNS for 15 years, and loves working with the children. She and her husband have one son, a senior at Towson State.
Karen lives in Severna Park with her husband, Craig and their dog, Marley. They have two daughters and two grandchildren. A long-time member of SPUMC, she has worked as an aide at the Nursery School for nine years. Karen loves working with preschoolers, traveling, volunteering with church missions, reading, and shop for antiques and interesting home furnishings.
Angela began working at SPUMCNS as a substitute seven years ago, and loved it so much she decided to join our staff as an Aide with the three-year-olds. Her family includes her husband, Brad (who grew up in Chartwell) and two young adult children, Melinda and Jack. In her free time, Angela loves to read, watch sports, spend time with her family, and relax at the family’s vacation home in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Arlene joined SPUMCNS as an aide four years ago and really has a gift for working with preschoolers. She has two adult children and five grandchildren. In addition to spending time with her family, she loves to run, bike, and work in her yard.
This will be Amy’s second year at SPUMCNS and her 35th as an educator. An AACPS preschool teacher for 33 years, she says she’s found her new home here at “Snoopy School.” She has three daughters; two are in college and one is a junior at SPHS. She loves walking her dog, Camden, going to the beach, and cheering for our Baltimore teams.
After all three of her daughters “graduated” from SPUMCNS, Leslie joined the staff, first as a substitute and then as an aide. Her enthusiasm and passion for working with children are evident in everything she does, at work and at home.
This is Jessica’s fourth year working with preschoolers, but her first at SPUMCNS. She and her husband have three children: Autumn (11), Carter (9), and Mia (5). Originally from Upstate New York, she has lived in Maryland for 14 years. An avid photographer, she loves traveling and spending time outdoors with her family.
