Born in Nebraska, Dixie moved to the East Coast when she married her husband of 42 years. They lived first in New York and then Florida, where she finally finished her studies in Economics at Rollins College. Her work during those years often involved travel in Asia and Europe. They came to the Mid-Atlantic while she completed her MBA in Marketing and Strategy at Georgetown University in 1999. They joined SPUMC in 2008.
Dixie lives with an athletic orange cat who runs the house and has two adult children, identical twins George and Donald Harvey, who live in Richmond and Pittsburgh, respectively.
Dixie sings in the choir, so she is usually at our 10:45am service, but she also loves Praise Music. She joined the team as Office Manager in 2025.
