Appalachia Service Project is a volunteer mission taking place over the summer within the Appalachian region. High schoolers, college kids, and youth leadership travel into the mountains for a week, fixing up and repairing low income homes. Volunteers are given the chance to bond and connect with both their community as well as the locals around the area they are visiting. Activities include splitting into squads of around six or seven ensuring everyone is included, a cookout where those who are being helped are invited, and construction-like physical labor that's easy for beginners and spiritually rewarding.
