Worship is where we come together as a community to meet God, receive grace, and offer ourselves in love. Worship at SPUMC is a time for praise, renewal and community. When you join us you’ll notice that we are folks of all ages and walks of life. Some of us dress up, some of us don’t. When we gather for worship we connect with God through song, prayer, one another, the sacraments and engaging with the Scriptures. Children are always welcome in worship. We hope you will become a part of our worshiping community.
Our Interim Worship Schedule
Through Labor Day, we are offering worship services at 9am & 10:30am in the Sanctuary. There is also a tented seating area just outside one of the Sanctuary doors for those who are more comfortable worshiping outdoors. We have a Sunday School option for young children on the playground during the 9am service, as well and Nursery Care (up to age 5) is offered during the 10:30am service. We are masking and socially distancing for all services regardless of vaccination status.
We are happy to let you know that the Church Office is OPEN, and we can’t wait to see you! Please remember to wear your mask whenever you come into the building. Office hours are: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Fridays, 9am-12noon & 1-4pm and Thursdays 9am-12noon.
Sundays During More “Normal” Times
8:00 am Early Service: A smaller, more intimate early morning worship service with a traditional feel.
9:30 am Contemporary Service: A relaxed service where most Sundays the music is led by one of our bands (guitars, drums, & keyboard). Sunday School is offered for children up through 12th grade during the school year during this service. On the first Sunday of the month, our children (except for pre-schoolers and below), join us for worship and our invited to take communion with their families.
11:00 am Traditional Service: Creative touches keep this more liturgical service fresh and engaging with music by our Sanctuary Choir and hymns accompanied by organ and piano.
Our “Pray Ground” Space
We love having children in worship but know that sometimes their active bodies need to move. If you need to step out of worship with your child, please feel free to visit the “pray-ground” just outside the sanctuary, where you can still hear and see worship while your little one plays. Then re-enter the sanctuary when you’re ready. We also have busy bags for our toddlers and preschoolers to use during worship. Ask an usher to help you select the perfect one for your little one.
Nursery Care is provided during all three services for infants to 18 months. Sunday School for children 18 months and older is provided at 9:30 and 11:00.
