Angel Tree

Every year, we support nearly a dozen different mission partners through our Angel Tree of Caring. We will be supporting a number of our mission projects with gift card donations (Arundel House of Hope, the Clothing Ministry, and Heaven’s Kitchen) as well as providing personally selected and wrapped gifts for children.

How to Take a Tag: If you’d like to pick a physical tag off the tree, stop by the front porch of the church. If you prefer to show your support online, use the links below to support a project that is utilizing an online signup.

How to Return a Gift: Physical gifts should be wrapped, labeled with the child’s name, and dropped off on the front porch of the church, under the Christmas tree, by the date on the tag. Gift cards should be placed in an envelope, labeled with the appropriate ministry, and placed in the new drop box that is installed on the wall near the main entrance by Christmas. We will check for donations daily, making sure they’re safe.

Thank you for your generosity – and for brightening the holidays for many in our community! If you have any questions, please contact Becky Clapp.

Arundel House of Hope

Donate $10 gift cards to McDonald’s or Burger King.

Arundel House of Hope (AHOH) provides emergency transitional and other supportive housing for the homeless in Anne Arundel County Maryland, including Winter Relief. Your donation of McDonald’s and Burger King Gift cards will give AHOH clients some extra cheer in the form of hot food this winter.

How to return gift cards: Please put gift card donations in an envelope, label it “Arundel House of Hope,” and leave in the drop box outside the church entrance. Please donate before Christmas Day.

Other Ways to Help: Support AHOH by donating online or purchasing items from their wishlist.

Clothing Ministry

Donate Walmart gifts cards in any amount.

The Clothing Ministry of SPUMC partners with Arundel House of Hope to provide essential “wish list” items to the adults who are served by AHOH, many of whom have also been our guests during Winter Relief. In the past, this has included work boots, coats, and other items needed in particular sizes. Your donation of Walmart gift cards allows our Clothing Ministry shoppers to purchase the items that have been specifically requested by AHOH clients this winter.

How to return gift cards: Please put gift card donations in an envelope, label it “Clothing Ministry,” and leave in the drop box outside the church entrance.

Heaven’s Kitchen

Donate $20 gift cards to Lidl.

Heaven’s Kitchen is a feeding ministry in Brooklyn Park that has continued steadily throughout the pandemic, providing hot meals to those who live in the community. Your donation of McDonald’s gift cards will give Heaven’s Kitchen guests some extra cheer in the form of hot food this winter.

How to return gift cards: Please put gift card donations in an envelope, label it “Heaven’s Kitchen,” and leave in the drop box outside the church entrance. Please donate before Christmas Day.

Reach Out and Serve Partnership

Adopt a child, and buy them gifts from their wishlist.

Reach Out and Serve LLC works in collaboration with AAC Elementary Schools who have a large food insecure student population and whose families qualify for free and reduced lunch. Children are identified for the giving tree project in collaboration with elementary school staff. The children provide their own Christmas Santa wishes. This year, our SPUMC tree will provide gifts to children living locally in Annapolis.

How to “take a tag” virtually: Click here and use the Sign Up Genius form to select a child.

How to return gifts: Drop off gifts at the outdoor Angel Tree on the church porch no later than Sunday, December 19. Please wrap gifts and tag them with the child’s name.

SPAN Children & Teens

Adopt a child, and buy them gifts from their wishlist.

Serving People Across Neighborhoods (SPAN) works year round to provide food and financial assistance to people in need in our area. We invite you to support SPAN by adopting one of the sponsored children and purchasing gifts for them, or by participating in the Reverse Advent Calendar project: instead of taking an item out each day, place an item into the bag each day. Your donation of food helps to stock the SPAN shelves for many months to come.

How to return gifts: Drop off gifts at the outdoor Angel Tree on the church porch no later than Sunday, December 12 at 11am. Please wrap gifts and tag them with the child’s name.

Other Ways to Help: Support SPAN by donating online or by purchasing items from their wish list.
